Hello everyone, I hope you all are having a great day! I am sharing with you all a new post dedicated to all the tips to help make this holiday season not only more manageable for you but a bit stress-free! I have tips ranging from self-care to shopping to mindfulness to planning ahead. I hope you all enjoy reading this post!
Try to buy as much ahead as possible
Buy food items that you know won't go bad quickly, such as canned goods and frozen vegetables or fruit.
Make food ahead of time
I'm not implying for you to make the turkey right now, but you can make some dishes ahead and freeze them! For instance, mashed potatoes.
Aim for simple and easy foods that can be stored in the fridge a week before.
Shop online
Score on great sales and fast delivery
Feel free to do a little comparison of a product in-store vs. online
Don't bring more work to yourself
The holidays are already stressful on their own and by adding more tasks and commitment can make it quite difficult to manage.
Don't feel guilty about saying no.
Get organized
Start by organizing wrapping paper, clothes, and other sections of the house to help maintain tidiness.
Have easy access to items needed for the fast-approaching holidays such as cooking supplies and tuber ware.
Stock up on everything gift giving related
Stock up on gift supplies like tape, bows, gift bags, and paper.
You don't want to wait till the last minute to shop. Besides, everything that you will want to get will be sold out.
Rest
The most important thing for you to do.
Pretty self-explanatory, but definitely easier said than done.
Try to take some time either in the morning or night to meditate, read, or even watch TV.
Remember to take care of yourself, you deserve it!
Journal
Use a journal for whatever it may be. You can use one to vent, relax, or be creative, it is entirely up to you.
You can also easily plan for the next day's tasks and this also helps you to stay ahead and organized with your completed tasks.
Exercise
Even just walking is a great way to get your mind off of things.
It doesn't have to be super intense; anything helped with soothing your mind.
Have a self-care day
Treat yourself to get your nails done or have a massage.
Go to the library or bookstore to browse through some books.
Whatever brings you joy, you should definitely do it before the holidays to help take away the stress.
Develop healthy habits
It can be as simple as tracking how many hours of sleep you get a night to tracking your mood.
Avoid overscheduling yourself.
Stick to a holiday budget.
Give yourself a gift
It is the season of gift giving and therefore, give yourself one!
I mean I'm not saying buy the whole store, but definitely a small gift to show yourself that you appreciate you!
