Road Trip Tips & Ideas

Hello everyone, I hope you all are having a wonderful day! In this post, I will be talking about road trip tips and ideas! I will be including anything from essentials, tips, planning, and ideas. I hope you all enjoy this post and hope it encourages you to go on a road trip!

Actually, make a plan

  • Whether you are planning to visit multiple places or not, it is super helpful to have an idea of how long the drive will be, what the weather will be like, and how you need to pack.

Bring a map

  • Like an actual map.

  • Sure we have Google Maps and a GPS to follow directions, but sometimes it can be fun to explore other places within the same area.

  • Also, it's a great decor item for later on.

Pack light

  • Bring a small, but not too heavy duffle bag or backpack with you.

  • If you are one that likes to have a purse with you, definitely bring a small crossbody bag with you and keep only the essentials with you.

Bring CD's

  • This is a great way to not only save energy for your phone but to listen to old music that you have stuffed away on shelves.

Remember to bring cash

  • Keep some cash with you specifically for tolls and emergency money.

Keep your friends and family updated

  • Check in with worried family members or friends about locations to relieve some stress off them.

Make up your own road games

  • It is a really fun way to kill time and an endless amount of laughter and memories will be made.

Feel free to ask locals where the best places are to eat

  • Locals love sharing their favorite eating spots and will often give honest reviews about them.

Limit your time on your phone

  • Try to stay away from your phone as much as possible.

  • You are exploring nature and local areas and you certainly want to remember the beautiful areas you visited.

Bring a spare key

  • We all know some people that tend to lose things, so it is better to be safe and bring an extra key with you.

Bring an additional camera

  • It doesn't have to be fancy or expensive, it can be a disposable or digital camera and take fun pictures of places, your friends, and you.

Essentials to bring with you

  • Camera

  • Quick and healthy snacks

  • Portable chargers

  • Lip balm

  • Blanket

  • Map

  • Cooler

  • Jumper cables

  • First aid kit

  • Flashlights

  • Reusable water bottle

  • Additional drinks

  • Cash

  • Headphones

  • Books

  • Sunglasses

  • Tissues

  • Napkins and hand wipes

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Extra clothes and a pair of shoes

  • Tote bag

  • Sunscreen

  • Mini toothbrush

  • Extra masks

  • Hair bands

  • Feminine products

  • Travel pillow
