This poem is about letting someone go because you believe you deserve better and love yourself. Fixed My Mistake

Guess what?

I’m over you.

I realized that I deserve better.

I realized that I can’t fix you.

I realized I can't change someone, I can only inspire them.

You were so hard to understand yet,

You were so easy to let go of.

You were such a rude person.

You would always put yourself first.

You will always be the same person that I met for the first time.

I tried to look past your flaws.

I tried to imagine you as this perfect person.

I tried to believe you were nice to everyone.

I tried to believe I could change you.

I can’t change you, I never will.

But I made my mind up about you.

I don't want to be with someone who thinks he is always right.

I don’t want to be with someone who constantly thinks they are perfect and can do no wrong.

I don’t want to be with someone who makes me feel insecure.

I don’t want you anymore.

I have decided I won’t fall for you again.

Sure, I may think about you from time to time when I’m lonely,

But I know it won’t be like the first time.

You were so difficult and different; you captured my mind in ways I cannot explain.

I felt like I was on this adrenaline rush with you, and it was only going up.

But now I realized, it was just a rush of lust.

I won’t go back to you because I know my worth.

I deserve someone who will actually love and cherish me.

Someone who will treat me with respect and pride.

Someone who won’t antagonize me.

Someone who deserves me.

It was a mistake to think I was going to be with you.

But now,

As your friend, I get to watch you make all the mistakes and hopefully you learn from them.

I’m glad that,

I won’t be part of your mistakes.
