Hello everyone, I hope you all are having a wonderful day! I am sharing with you all another poem post! This poem is a bit different from others because I wrote this one about a shade of green. This poem is called Fern because of the descriptive words I wrote and the beautiful scenery I became inspired by. I hope you all enjoy reading this poem and immersing yourself in the scenery and gratefulness of Fern.
Fern
Twisted vines
Wrapped around a tree stump.
Dragonflies gently swarming the
Warm, summer air.
Breezy, lightweight leaves
Blowing in the wind.
As the quiet wind sings a song.
Light water droplets
Falling down the stems of the leaves
Leaving behind a small puddle for its’ plants to grow.
Laying down on the tall, prickly lawn
While looking up at the beaming sun.
Dreaming about what the future may hold and
Thinking about what the clouds look like.
Playing hide-n-seek and laughing uncontrollably
Under the shadows of the trees.
Eating fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden
As my curious fingers touch the vegetation.
Brushing my back against the bushes
As my mind relaxes to the playful music.
For some reason, every time I’m near a tree,
I feel safe and secure.
Between the thick bark to
Each leaf that covers me like an umbrella.
It gives me hope that someone will do the same to me one day.
Someone will make me feel protected while calming me down
To the sweet noise of encouragement.
Some day that day will come.
And it will be pure luck
To share this moment with them.
Though sometimes I’m quick to judge
The flaky leaves or the dry roots.
I know that with quick judgment
Comes with lack of experience.
The inability to stop and turn off my weak thoughts.
But I’m able to fix this and grow my mindset to new things.
Instead of passing by the dried plants and
Thinking of the easiest way they could’ve died,
I’ll take action to learn why this happened and what to do to improve.
You could say it’s a learning experience, but to me, it’s healing.
Once all the plants grow and
I feel like I’ve given back too much of my love,
I’ll stop by my grandparents
To remind myself of where it all started.
My appreciation for the outdoors and
Honestly, going outside for a walk,
I feel privileged while some may feel envious.
I’ll make sure to give more water to the plants that need a little extra help.
I’ll make sure to walk through the wood trails like it’s my last time outside.
And I’ll always remember to sit by the tree stump to remind me of my happiness.
